Membership FAQs

Members may choose to have their contact details displayed in the "find a Party Wall Pfofessional" on this website or in the Club's Annual Register of Members, which is circulated to Local Authority Building control and Planning Departments, CAB Offices, Libraries and other interested parties.

Membership is open to all professionals with an interest in Party Wall matters.

You will need to submit an application for membership either online or submitting a hard copy using the prescribed form. By signing the form applicants confirm agreement to complying with the Club's Protocol.

Applicants must be proposed by one member and seconded by another, both of whom must vouch for the candidate from their personal knowledge. 

In exceptional circumstances, the Council or the relevant Branch Committee will consider and, if appropriate, grant applications for membership submitted to it direct by a candidate in the absence of a proposer and seconder.

The standard annual subscription for membership of P&T includes membership of one branch of the member's choice.  Members may join additional branches upon payment of an additional subscription per branch.

Members will be kept informed of meetings and events in their branches by the Branch Chairmen and Branch Secretaries.  The majority of members tend to join whichever branch's meeting venue is the most convenient to reach.  Please refer to the meetings and events section for details of forthcoming events.

P&T was set up to exchange news of, and opinions on, interesting party wall cases.  The Club is named after the two lovers in William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream who whispered to each other through a chink in the wall that separated them. The Club’s newsletter is appropriately called Whispers.
