Devon & Cornwall Branch
If you would like to jon us at our next Branch meeting, plesae contact either Dennis or Peter for further details.
Feedback from Branch Members is always welcome. Please direct these to Dennis, who can raise matters at National Council level.
Members of our Branch have taken advantage of the self assessment "Benchmark" programme with very credible results (very much in the public interest). Well done and thanks to those that took part.
Devon & Cornwall Branch meetings
The branch normally holds quarterly meetings at either Lifton or Exeter, usually with an attendance of around 10 – 15 members. The Annual General Meeting is held in June each year.
The meetings provide a forum for discussion of particular party wall issues occurring in the region as well as discussion of wider party wall matters.
In the past presentations have been given by:
- John Carter
- William Shaw
- Graham Dewey
The Devon & Cornwall branch benefits from solicitors being active members. As a consequence the branch has been able to offer presentations on the legal interpretation of aspects of the Act together with discussion of wider neighbourly matters.
Devon & Cornwall branch promotion
Branch members have promoted awareness and a better understanding of party wall matters in the region by giving presentations to the Devon Law Society and the RICS as well as local universities and architects.
We are currently talking to the CIOB about the possibility of presenting to its members.
